Any way to make employee work anniversaries more accurate in Glean?

Hey, we have noticed that for most of our employees, their work anniversary as shown in Glean is consistently a few weeks early.

We realised that this is because new joiner accounts are created in Google a week or so before their official start date, and Glean is using Google as our source of people data.

Has anyone else come across this issue, and is there an easy way to fix it, e.g. by mapping the employee's start date in Glean to a different profile attribute?

Hi @dseeber , Glean supports using secondary data sources for people data. If you have a people data source that accurately captures the work anniversary, then Glean can be configured to prioritize that data source when defining start_date. Setting the start_date prioritization requires contacting Glean Support.

As of this writing, Glean supports custom mappings when using Okta as the people data source, but does not yet support custom mappings when using Google as the people data source. The recommended approach is to use a secondary people data source that captures the information. The secondary data source could be a CSV file which includes a "start_date" column.
