Can I dynamically insert conversation starters or add links that Glean can understand and act on?

Consider this example, someone is searching for a customer named John Smith. There are multiple John Smith in the system. I want to display them in a list and allow the user to somehow pick or select the one they want to work with. Right now I'm displaying the email address and telling the user to copy/paste the correct email but that seems clunky. I want the user to be able to click and go.

Hi Jay, great use case!

While mid-agent run selection is not currently possible, you can accomplish this functionality by using branching, see example below:

1. Ingest customer name from trigger

2. Conduct customer search, with email field being optional

3. Think about whether there is an exact, or many possible matches

4. Branch: Fallback prompts the user to reply with the specified user based on a list output. If there is only one match, continue in your Branch 1 with your desired logic

5. Once the user replies, the agent will re-run the logic with the specified unique customer name

sure, but the user can’t interact with the list of returned users. they have to copy/paste or type it in. that’s friction but also introduces the possibility of user error. showing the user a list of hyperlinked names removes both problems.

In my example agent, the user can respond with the name, or number of the list item. This would be similar to a hyperlink selection in terms of potential user error. Dynamic mid-agent run hyperlinks are currently not supported, but thank you for bringing up the use case!
