Glean has a collection feature in which users can create a collection of sources like files, folders, documents, URLs. Currently this Collection cannot be used as Knowledge source in Chat Assistant. E.g. you can try copy or browse the recent collection and try link it in Chat interface but Response is more a generic metadata about the collection not really answering or searching/chat with the data inside the collection itself. 


Collections is not a Knowledge source object type for chat assistants currently available in the platform. 


We like to be able to use folders, files, URLS in the collection object (URL or recent browsed collection) as source for. Glean Chat Assistant. So the Assistant ONLY uses the sources from the Collection as scope for user interaction and chat assistant responses. 


It has been very hard in Assistant to scope down the overall knowledge content to a subset of knowledge for a user to interact with, either too broad or too narrow (file only upload). A collection would be a perfect container of content to use in the Chat Assistant for users and teams without having to build Agents. In this way users can also own and maintain / edit knowledge source dynamically inside of collections (like a project container)
