Feedback and Ideas

I am submitting a feature request to enhance the interactivity and efficiency of the Glean Assistant interface by introducing clickable buttons for common responses.

Currently, the interaction with Glean is purely text-based. When Glean asks a clarifying question (e.g., "Would you like me to investigate further?") or presents multiple options (e.g., "Which of these five topics are you interested in?"), users must manually type their response.

While this works, it introduces unnecessary friction into the workflow. I believe implementing interactive UI components would significantly improve the user experience in the following ways:

Improved Efficiency and Speed: For simple binary choices (Yes/No) or selecting from a list, clicking a button is far faster than typing a response. This allows users to maintain their momentum while performing complex research or tasks.

Lowering the Barrier for All Users: Not all users are comfortable with prompt engineering. Providing explicit buttons for choices makes the "next steps" intuitive and clear, ensuring that everyone can navigate the AI’s capabilities effectively regardless of their prompting skills.

Reduced Cognitive Load: Buttons provide a clear visual cue for the expected input, reducing the mental effort required to decide how to respond to the AI's suggestions.

Specifically, I envision a feature where:

Binary Choices: Buttons for "Yes/No" or "Confirm/Cancel" appear when Glean proposes a follow-up action.

Numbered Selections: When Glean lists multiple items or options, corresponding numbered buttons (1, 2, 3...) appear to allow for one-click selection.

By transforming these routine interactions into a more "app-like" intuitive experience, Glean can become an even more seamless partner in our daily productivity.
