We understand why Glean Assistant blocks password like content by default, and in most cases we agree with that behavior.

That said, we have a small number of shared operational accounts that are intentionally used by multiple team members and have generic passwords. Today, those passwords live in internal Google Docs, but Glean Assistant refuses to return them because of the existing safety guardrails.

We would like a setting in Glean Protect that lets admins designate specific documents as approved sources for password sharing. If a user asks for a password that exists in one of those approved documents, Assistant should be able to return it. For all other documents, the current suppression behavior should stay exactly the same.

If password information is stored in one of those approved docs, Assistant can return it when asked.

If the same type of information exists in any unapproved doc, Assistant should continue to suppress it.

This should be explicit, narrow in scope, and fully admin controlled.

It would support real workflows for teams that rely on shared accounts.

It would give admins a controlled exception instead of forcing an all or nothing behavior.

It would let customers handle a small set of intentional edge cases without changing the default safety posture for everything else.

In short, we are not asking for password sharing to be broadly enabled. We are asking for a tightly scoped admin override for specific approved documents.
