Customers are trying to build daily-news / editorial agents that search the open web for news on a topic, limit results to a strict recent time window, and return a reusable list of articles for downstream steps.

Today, this is difficult because the workflow breaks in two places:

 is the supported web search path for agents, but strict date/operator filtering is still a known limitation, with no committed ETA in the available internal references.

 can return relevant content, but it returns a final answer rather than a stable structured result list that downstream workflow steps can reliably consume.

 helps read article pages, but it does not solve the need for strict date-filtered retrieval or a clean structured list of article URLs and metadata for downstream use.

The ask is to support one or both of the following:

Reliable date-range / freshness filtering in Brave Web Search

Prompts like “only today’s news about &lt;topic&gt;” or “news from the last 7 days” should consistently return results only from that window.

Structured result output for Gemini Web Search

Workflows should be able to receive a stable list of result objects such as:

Ideally, both would be supported, but solving either side would significantly unblock these use cases:

downstream automation that depends on consistent article metadata
