Hi all,
 I wanted to share a behavior we’re seeing with 

 permissions, and why it’s painful in day‑to‑day use.

 that answers questions using content from 

, Glean can open the SharePoint document and give a good answer.

Within a few minutes, asking again in the same Slack channel may suddenly work — so it doesn’t feel like a simple “you don’t have permission” case.

, Glean will only show content that is marked as 

all people in the Slack channel already have access

 to the documents /pages level via groups / named users,

So to make Option C consistent, we’re asked to 

open the SharePoint site to everyone in the company

Isn’t acceptable for sites that intentionally use 

group‑based or user‑based permissions

Slack Option C could respect SharePoint group / user‑level permissions

, instead of requiring “Everyone except external users” at the site level.

 already has access to a SharePoint doc (via groups or named users),

use and share that content in a public Option C response

 without us having to relax the site to full 

 (groups, named users, sensitive folders)

Avoid confusing “no access” messages when, from a business point of view, access is already correct

No pressure to over‑open SharePoint sites

aligned with what people can already access
