Weekly individual work reports in Glean?

Is it possible to do weekly individual work reports in Glean? We've been trying to get it going with agents, but have been running into multiple bugs/issues. Essentially, we'd like for it to show the past week's completed work, and planned work for the upcoming week. It'd be great to pull information from Slack, Outlook (mail and calendar), Atlassian, etc. Has anyone successfully accomplished anything like this?

Hi @connorwaldo - this will be possible with our option to schedule an agent. It is currently in private beta and we are not accepting new customers. I hope to have an update soon on when this will be generally available. 🤞

Unfortunately, I don't have a current timeline from product, but would expect it to drop in the next quarter or two.

As for ideas, you'll want to make sure that Outlook is set up properly and you are using the Calendar Search step for that action. Here's the documentation on that. Re: Slack & Atlassian, those are the two connectors we are experiencing problems due to the companies rate limiting the APIs which may be why you are experiencing bugs. You can browse our Agent Library to see what agents might be similar to the one you're trying to build and use those templates as you build out your agent. Sometimes just changing the LLM model also helps. If you check some of our office hour recordings we cover this in more detail. You can also join our next office hours on the 24th with Mark who can work with you live on your use case.

In our environment there was a template called "Weekly Snippets" which they now call "Weekly Work Report". People have now forked into a dozen or more versions. The basic version though was set up like this. It uses "Read personal activity" which I believe is looking at all sources. We've found the outputs to be pretty good.

What we do is tell people to use it as a starting point for their updates, and then save their output into a single consistent/evergreen google doc per person, and then we run a summarization agent on top of that that's been hard coded to look for those specific google docs. We're in the Scheduled Agent Beta so we have that summarization agent run weekly.

That way there's still some human judgment about what to submit but the overall end to end is much faster and easier.

We found a pretty serious gotcha with pulling calendar items from Outlook. Apparently, Glean can only pull Outlook Calendar items that have Teams meetings assigned. That makes zero sense but it's what support told me and my testing confirms it. We are not a Teams shop so our Calendar integration is nonexistent to useless. I've thought about rolling my own through Graph but that's silly. We pay a lot for Glean and Outlook is a MASSIVE platform. It should work.

Wow, is this true? We just rolled out the MS Teams connector and were told this would work for all calendar events in Outlook if we did that.

Interesting, so I'm clear - you use the agent template, then created another agent to pull people's activities they add from a Google Sheet, right?

yes except we don't use Sheets for anything in this, we use Docs.
