TIL you can share Glean search results with your team 🤯 - what are the other “hidden” features you love?
My favorite little easter egg is the tooltip on the search bar that shows what metadata we bring in for each datasource/connector. Folks can search by this metadata using boolean type searches as well. It really helps narrow down content to get to exactly what you're looking for.
My two most-used Glean features:
I think one of the most under-used Glean features is the Glean Sidebar (part of the Glean browser plugin), that enables you to quickly Glean information, summarize, or ask questions of ANY web page (even if it has never been indexed by Glean). These interactions, of course, are fully-backed by all the enterprise knowledge that Glean has of your organization. Looking at a candidate on LinkedIn - what do we have in common? Who at Glean might know them? Looking at a competitor's website - how does our product differ? Looking at a news article - what are the salient points? The possibilities are endless…but the question remains - why read the whole web page when you can just pull it into Glean to understand it?
I just recently started using the Glean sidebar in Google! I find it useful to ask questions directly about the doc - I can summarize the content if it's longer form and chat with Glean without having to switch tabs. 🙌
I had struggled with getting a million of the same questions around where to find details on our upcoming events. Now with Glean, I can create a "Collection" under the "Content" toolbar, and add all the relevant event materials I want employees to see to that space — and it's all Gleanable! My slack inbox is much more manageable. 😎
Low key, my favorite under rated glean feature is Verifications!! I think the power of this feature is heavily untapped and it's something that I wish I could get more users in my org to adopt.
EEspecially in the AI age, verified content and trusted data sources are essential!
