Question

Saw that Glean just released a native windows version of the glean app which is real swell; HOWEVER, I noticed it is a .exe which is not great for IT patch management systems like Intune.  Will Glean be releasing a .msi/msix version or posting to the microsoft store to help with enterprise management of this app?

Thanks for the question and for piloting the new Windows desktop app! We currently distribute the Windows app as a signed .exe. We know some IT teams prefer MSI/MSIX for Intune/MDM workflows, and we’re actively evaluating support for those packaging formats. While we don’t have an ETA to share yet, it’s on our roadmap and we’ll update this thread as soon as we have something to pilot.

On Microsoft Store availability: we don’t have plans to publish the desktop app to app stores at this time, as store channels typically constrain how we handle app updates for enterprises. For now, the recommended path is direct distribution of the signed installer.

You can download the Windows desktop app from Glean under Settings → Install → Desktop. It’s available today on macOS and Windows.
