Can someone explain to me when a search will use the live SOQL query vs pulling from the previously crawled Salesforce data?

Hi Landon!

Glean prefers indexed Salesforce data for fast search over objects it has already crawled. It switches to live Salesforce reads when the question needs freshness or structured querying that the index alone may not satisfy - like recent changes, reports/dashboards, or multi-record filtered questions. For more complex analytical questions, Assistant may use the Search Salesforce with SOQL action, which requires the user’s Salesforce OAuth authorization.
