We’ve received feedback that the default 👀 (eyes) emoji used by Gleanbot is confusing within some teams. Many users interpret the eyes emoji as an indication that someone is already looking into the issue, which leads them to believe the request is being handled by a team member rather than by the bot.
To avoid this misunderstanding, we’d like to request a feature that allows customization of the Gleanbot reaction emoji — ideally enabling different emojis to be set for different channels. This would help teams align the bot’s reactions with their internal communication norms and reduce confusion.
