Description:
Currently, the Glean Asana connector indexes standard Asana task fields, comments, and project metadata, but does not ingest or expose custom task fields created in Asana. Although the Asana API endpoint used by Glean provides access to these custom fields, Glean does not map or index them, resulting in custom field values being unavailable in search results, metadata, or as filterable facets.
Customer Use Case:
Many organizations rely on Asana custom task fields to track project-specific or workflow-specific data (e.g., priority, effort, department, custom statuses, or business-specific tags). The inability to search, filter, or display these custom fields in Glean limits the value of the Asana connector, as users cannot leverage the full context of their Asana data within Glean’s search and knowledge platform.
Business Impact:
- Unlocks richer, more relevant search experiences for users who depend on custom fields in Asana for project management and reporting.
- Enables advanced filtering, faceting, and analytics on Asana data within Glean, increasing adoption and satisfaction for customers with complex Asana setups.
- Aligns Glean’s Asana connector capabilities with customer expectations and industry standards for enterprise search integrations.
- Reduces support burden and confusion by making the connector’s capabilities more transparent and comprehensive.
