I would like to request a new feature for the Agent configuration: the ability for administrators and/or users to configure default values for certain Agent settings.
Specifically, in our current usage:
- The LLM for “Plan and Execute” steps is always set to Auto by default.
- The memory management option is always set to “Only the most recent step” by default.
In our environment, these two settings are frequently changed depending on the use case. Because they are fixed to these defaults, administrators and users must manually adjust them for many Agents and scenarios. This leads to:
- Additional operational effort and reduced productivity
- Risk of forgetting to change the settings, which can result in lower answer quality or unexpected behavior
To address these issues, we would like the product to support:
- Configurable default values
- Allow administrators (and/or users with appropriate permissions) to define default values for:
- The LLM used for “Plan and Execute” steps
- The memory management mode (e.g., not limited to “Only the most recent step”)
- These defaults should be applied automatically when creating a new Agent or Agent configuration.
- Flexible override
- Users should still be able to override the default values for individual Agents or scenarios when necessary.
We believe that enabling configurable default values will:
- Improve productivity by reducing repetitive manual changes
- Decrease configuration mistakes and omissions
- Help maintain more consistent quality and behavior across Agents
If possible, could you let us know whether such a feature is on your roadmap, or if there are any existing options or workarounds to achieve similar control over default values?
Thank you very much for your consideration. Please let me know if you require any further details about our use cases or current configuration process.
