I’ve been supporting Glean at my company for well over a year now. Since we first implemented it in May 2024, Glean has evolved significantly, new features have been introduced, and many existing ones have become much more stable and robust. However, one thing has remained unchanged: the frequency of connector and indexing issues. It’s typical for us to open one or two support tickets each week to troubleshoot user-reported connector problems, most often related to documents not being indexed.
While I understand that the root cause of many of these issues is usually rate limits imposed by the data source, which is largely outside of Glean’s control, the main frustration from an admin’s perspective is the lack of notification about indexing delays or potential connector problems. We only become aware of these issues when users report them. My request to Glean is to prioritize better observability for admins on native connectors, so we can proactively identify and address these issues. Help us help you!
